The 5,200-BTU Frigidaire FAA055P7A is a small air conditioner suitable for a typical bedroom. Compared to most air conditioners of this size, it has quite a few features, including a remote control, electronic controls, eight-way airflow adjustment, variable speed fan, energy saver mode and brownout protection. Unsurprisingly, it's also a bit more expensive than most small air conditioners. With an energy efficiency ratio of 11, this is one of the more energy-efficient models available, and owners report that it is very easy to install. As with most air conditioners, some say the Frigidaire AC is quiet, while others complain of intolerable noise. It's hard to say if this is a result of improper installation causing vibration (and rattling) or whether it's simply a result of personal noise tolerance. If you don't want to spend this much on a small air conditioner, the Kenmore 75050 (Discontinued) receives good owner ratings but has limited features.
ConsumerReports.org offers the only professional review of the Frigidaire FAA055P7A. We also found plenty of owner reviews and ratings for this model at Amazon.com, Epinions.com and Newegg.com.
