The Frigidaire FRA106CT1 has been discontinued, but the very similar LRA107BU1 (*Est. $280) remains available.
The FRA106CT1 -- sold as the Frigidaire LRA107BU1 at Lowe's -- will cool a fairly large room of about 450 square feet, and nearly every review indicates that it does this well. However, more than 10 percent of owners posting to various retailer sites say they received a damaged unit, which accounts for the handful of negative comments. Others give this air conditioner high praise for excellent cooling and easy installation. Many find the temperature sensor in the remote control to be an extremely useful feature, and the sleep timer that allows the unit to work more quietly with less energy is also reported to work well.
A number of users comment on how quietly the Frigidaire FRA106CT1 functions, although a few owners disagree. Professional tests find that it blows better straight ahead and to the left than to the right, and one owner notes this, as well. The same evaluations show excellent cooling efficiency and ease of use, and the majority of owners agree.
