Reviewers and owners agree that the AeroBed Premier Comfort Zone Raised is the best inflatable mattress you can buy. This mattress quickly and automatically inflates to a height of 2 feet (a typical height for a bed) and testers say it's very comfortable to sleep on. Some reviewers complain it isn't easy to fold or store, though, and not everyone is willing to invest $200 or $300 in an air mattress. If you only use an air mattress for the occasional nonpicky guest, you might be better off with the much cheaper Home Trends Raised Air Mattress, which reviewers also like.
A variety of sources tests the AeroBed Premier Comfort Zone Raised and compares it to other inflatable mattresses. We also consult owner reviews at Amazon.com.

In this thorough review, Torie Bosch tries out six air mattresses, spending one or two nights on each to gauge comfort and ease of setup. The top two finishers are the budget-priced Home Trends Raised Air Mattress, which Bosch calls "perfect for travel," and the premium-priced AeroBed Premier Comfort Zone Raised, which is "bulky" but comfortable.

2. ConsumerReports.org
In this brief roundup, ConsumerReports.org asks a panel of 18 testers to sleep on four inflatable air beds, including three mattresses by AeroBed and one by Simmons, with an emphasis on comfort and how easily the beds inflate. The report is old and doesn't test many models, but we like that there are a good number of testers.

Although the author doesn't go into great depth in this comparison of six inflatable mattresses, it's clear she personally tried out each model. She says the double version of the AeroBed Premier Raised "looks and feels like a real bed," but she is less impressed with models by Argos. Other beds that do well here appear to only be available in the U.K.
