October 2007. Reviewers are equivocal about the Honeywell Enviracaire 18155. In one major comparative test, this air purifier finished in the bottom third of the pack, receiving below-average grades for everything but noise. Ed Sherbenou of Air-Purifier-Power.com says it's a decent choice for small (150 square feet) rooms. Most owners seem satisfied with this air cleaner, praising its low noise level, but a few report quality issues right out of the box. The Honeywell Enviracaire 18150 (similar to the 18155) is one of the air purifiers tested by Consumer Reports in its October 2005 roundup. It's evaluated on its ability to remove particulate allergens from a sealed test chamber on both high and low speeds. Editors also measure noise.
Review: Air Cleaners: Some Do Little Cleaning, Editors of Consumer Reports, Oct. 2005
Reviewer Ed Sherbenou doesn't own or test the Honeywell Enviracaire 18155, but his observations are still valuable. He says this air purifier works only for extremely small rooms (about 150 square feet), and has some issues with what he says is poor sealing around the pre-filter's wrap. He recommends the Honeywell 50250 (*est. $150) as a better choice.
