Phil & Teds is known for its line of unconventionally designed strollers. The Classic, like most of the brand's models, is an all-terrain convertible stroller. It can be used as a single, but converts to a double stroller with the addition of a doubles kit (*Est. $80). The Classic can also be used with an infant carrier, and this adaptability makes it ideal for families with children of various ages. Owners often lament that previous incarnations of the stroller couldn't use the doubles kit with an infant car seat, but the manufacturer has since remedied this issue.
In general, reviewers praise this stylish stroller. Its durable steel frame, tough waterproof fabric and thick air-filled tires allow for a smooth, comfortable ride. Some say that at 24 pounds, the stroller's a bit heavy, but still manageable. Like most all-terrain strollers, the Classic certainly isn't small when folded, but it is substantially smaller than most all-terrain doubles thanks to its inline design. The main criticisms of the Classic are that it lacks accessories and storage is limited -- at a not-inexpensive price of $370 ($450 with the double kit). Basics such as a cupholder, weather shield and bumper bar must be purchased separately. Parents looking for more included features may want to consider the Phil & Teds Explorer .
The retail-based site StrollerReviews.net -- the blog of Stroller.com -- offers editor reviews of the Phil & Teds Classic, but isn't recognized for transparent, thorough or independent testing. However, these detailed evaluations give the best insight into the positives and negatives of this stroller. Buzzillions.com and Amazon.com feature minimal user feedback, which is a rarity, and the Classic receives mixed reviews on both. While the stroller is stylish and versatile, parents say its lack of accessories and storage are a disappointment. "Baby Bargains," the popular baby gear review book by Denise and Alan Fields, offers a good summary of the Phil & Teds brand in general.

1. Buzzillions.com
Buzzillions.com compiles reviews from retail sites ranging from Target.com to ToysRUs.com to REI. Only nine contributors assess this model -- relatively few for this site -- and it gets mixed feedback. Parents say the Classic is stylish and they love the single-to-double conversion feature. However, several note that very few accessories are included for the high price; cupholders, bumper bars and weather shields will cost extra. A few owners also say the stroller is a bit bulky and heavy, and can be somewhat difficult to maneuver.

2. StrollerReviewGuide.com
This blog evaluates several top-selling strollers, and its review of the Phil & Teds Classic is relatively detailed and balanced. Editors applaud the model's unique design and compact fold (particularly if used as a double). The Classic also earns praise for its maneuverability and inflatable wheels, which lend a smooth ride. Editors say, however, that the steel frame is slightly heavier than other elite strollers like the Bugaboo, and its limited storage space is "disappointing."

3. Amazon.com
In six user reviews of the Phil & Teds Classic, it earns just 2.7 out of 5 stars. On the plus side, owners like its durable steel frame, sturdy double rear foot brake, versatility and full recline. In fact, the low rating is rather misleading; one poor review is based on shipping issues and has nothing to do with the stroller. Another user complains of difficulty in assembly.

4. StrollerReviews.net
StrollerReviews.net is the official blog of the retail site Stroller.com. Most of its reviews are based on consumer feedback rather than independent testing. This particular evaluation is less detailed than others on the site, focusing more on the specifications of the model than its practical functionality. The only real praise is for the stroller's unique design and ergonomic, adjustable handlebar.
