The Tike Tech All-Terrain X3 Sport Single earns high marks for its primary function as a rugged jogging stroller that handles even the most difficult terrain thanks to a fixed front wheel. Yet one expert review says this same wheel makes the X3 Sport less suitable for day-to-day use, and a number of owners complain that it's hard to push. Non-joggers who want a swivel-wheel stroller for maneuverability may want to exchange their X3 Sport for the CityX3 Swivel Single (*Est. $340) , which is praised as a rugged everyday stroller.
While users say the X3 Sport is comfortable for even the tallest child, there's no footrest to prevent the rider's feet from dangling near the front wheel. In addition, the manufacturer's website says the stroller is suitable for newborns and toddlers, but the specs say it fits children six weeks and up. Newborns can use the X3 Sport with an optional bassinet or car seat, but that adds to the cost. This brand isn't generally available in retail stores so it's hard for parents to comparison-shop; only a few specialty baby stores carry Tike Tech models.
One important note: The X3 Sport was part of a recall of two Tike Tech stroller models (the other was the CityX3 Swivel Single) due to a possible strangulation hazard. No incidents or injuries have been reported, and consumers can contact Tike Tech for a replacement of the grab bar causing the problem.
The best review of the Tike Tech X3 Sport Single comes from TheShoppingMama.com, a blogger who reviews baby products. BabyBargains.com discusses the Tike Tech brand, but even though it appears very outdated -- it even lists an old web address -- it does address relevant durability issues. We didn't find many user reviews for this stroller, but owner feedback at Buzzillions.com is helpful in determining how it operates in real-world situations.

This is the website for "Baby Bargains," the popular baby gear book by Denise and Alan Fields that offers practical shopping advice. In the bonus material section, the authors discuss brands that didn't fit into their book, including Tike Tech. The X3 Sport isn't specifically mentioned and the review seems outdated, since the Tike Tech models were all updated for 2010 and that isn't reflected here.
