The GE 29875GE2 includes many popular features, including call screening, voice time/day stamp and auto disconnect, but, like many digital answering machines, it has only 30 minutes of recording time. However, the ability to limit the message time allows room for at least 50 messages, and its memo function allows you to leave messages for other household members. The toll saver feature helps you avoid toll charges when checking messages remotely, and the remote access voice menu makes checking messages while you're away much easier. You can set the number of rings before the machine picks up, and the lighted message counter lets you know at a glance how many messages you have. Although there is no battery backup, the unit does have message power-failure protection.
Because standalone answering machines are increasingly rare, there are no recent professional reviews the GE 29875GE2. User-review sites such as Amazon.com and eBay provide the best insights.
