- Good spyware and virus protection
- Decent firewall protection
- Cheaper than separate programs
- Spam, phishing protection not the best
- Slow technical and customer service
December 2007. Reviewers say Panda Internet Security 2008 has the best anti-spyware functionality of any security software suite. Most professional critics note that you get maximum computer security by buying separate components -- anti-spyware, antivirus, etc. -- rather than by using all-inclusive security suites that tend to be jacks of all trades and masters of a couple. Reviews say Panda Internet Security is very good at spyware and virus prevention and has a good firewall, but it's less successful at other tasks, including spam filtering and phishing protection. A review in PC Magazine says, "It's the first product ever to ace both my spyware-removal and spyware-prevention tests." The same review says the anti-phishing feature "did absolutely nothing." Some user reviews indicate tech support and customer service are difficult and time-consuming. If you decide you'd rather buy dedicated anti-spyware software, reviews suggest Webroot Software Spy Sweeper 5.5.7.122 (*est. $25).
The most credible review sources usually advise against suites and either don't review them or give them middle-of-the-range scores. We found the best review at PC Magazine, which does extensive testing and assigns ratings. As with other security software, users either love it or hate it and they all have their (varied) reasons. Great Britain's WebUser review was fine in 2005, but it's outdated now, although still worth a read for general impressions.

PC Magazine does thorough testing of every product it reviews and assigns numerical scores that help make comparisons easy (3.5 out of five for Panda Internet Security 2008). Reviewer Neil Rubenking says "It's the first product ever to ace both my spyware-removal and spyware-prevention tests," but that the anti-spam and phishing prevention are weak.

2. Amazon.com
About 35 user reviews give the 2008 version of Panda Internet Security an average score, but there are few three-star reviews; users either love or hate the software. Complaints are a real mixed bag; the program doesn't work, doesn't work with Vista, it slows the computer, or tech support or customer service is bad.

3. WebUser
British website WebUser reviews an older version of Panda Internet Security and thus the report is outdated. It gives the 2006 version so-so ratings, but says it's useful for people who want an all-in-one package.
