Trend Micro is a distant third in security software sales. In the past, its products have received more favorable reviews than market leaders Symantec (Norton brand) and McAfee. In all direct comparisons, Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2007 fails to match other software at catching and removing viruses. However, experts do say that Trend Micro AntiVirus doesn't conflict with other software as much as the leading antivirus titles. If you want a package that combines antivirus and antispyware, we found better reviews for Webroot Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus (*est. $25), but this program has trouble with software conflicts.
Good comparative reviews of Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2007 can be found at Computer Shopper, PC World and CNet.com. The reviews don't cover all issues relevant to consumers, but they evaluate performance and reach decisive conclusions. TopTenReviews.com's review of Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2007 does not adequately address performance, or cover use of resources or compatibility at all.
