The unit was recommended in Consumer Reports, is easy to use and quite accurate. The only problem I've encountered is that the power adapter for the car does not work in all vehicles. I bought the unit… recently before traveling for business and the adapter didn't work in my rental car (a Hyundai Sonata, for anyone curious), and returned home to find that it doesn't work in my VW Golf either. The kit I purchased does include a USB power adapter, and it gets about three and a half hours of juice per charge. My way around this problem has been to turn the system off during long stretches of longer trips (i.e., when it tells me I'll be on the same highway for 90 miles), then turn it on when I know I'm approaching my next turn. This is not ideal, but still gets me where I need to go. One other note is to still pay close attention to signage, particularly when it directs you to major destinations like airports or train stations. For example, in Austin, TX it directed me to the cargo and service exit ramp at the airport. I was able, at that point, to follow the signage to passenger pickup, but have found such scenarios are not unusual. Don't let its directions override your common sense.

Pros: - great size, and display is good enough for what you pay for, gets me from point A to B and recalculates fast if I veer off course - has a good variety of features to get you where you want to go,… favourites, etc - has gas calculator to see how much you're using based on your trips - I've found the British female voice to be the best so far, the American female sounds like a computer - can save a number of addresses so you can easily just click on those to go to Cons: - when I hook up my phone to the blue tooth feature, the sound turns off after a minute, and I have to reboot to get it back, at which point it turns off again, so I end up not using the bluetooth just so the GPS will talk to me the way it should - traffic hasn't been accurate on the one time I tried it - have to always type in the city whenever I look up something, but there is a previous searches file that I can sift through - tried it in the streets of downtown SF, and it took a few minutes to get my location right (and hence my directions to where I wanted to go) overall, not a bad GPS, although I wish the bluetooth worked, but like the actual GPS enough to keep it.

I live in semi-rural Nebraska, so it can be hit and miss, but I love the little thing. I live about 90 miles west of Lincoln and that is bordering on "the middle of nowhere". The only time I ever had a… problem was when I went about 70 miles north of where I live, and there is absolutely nothing up there. I got off on a gravel road and it kept telling me that every road I was on was Nebraska Highway 22. And I admit it, I was lost. But other than that, nice little unit for the price. I don't have any use for the traffic feature (in a town of 40,000) but I love the gas mileage feature, the where am I feature, and it has gotten me everywhere else that I have needed to go, even out here in "the middle of nowhere".

We recently purchased this item. It is our first GPS, so we do not have a basis for comparison with other products. For a first time user, I am finding that I use the device more than I had anticipated.… It was my wife's gift and something I thought I would not find useful. However, I find uses in our own community on a regular basis. It was very user friendly, even without studying a manual. I did find it made a mistake on a route I was following, suggesting that I continue on a numbered highway when I was on a route where I fortunately knew that was incorrect. It is otherwise adequate for my purposes and a helpful tool .
