The Garmin nuvi 760 was Garmin's top-of-the-line GPS unit not long ago. Its price has fallen drastically, so that this full-featured navigator now costs little more than a budget model. Top reviews say the nuvi 760 navigates better than TomTom and Magellan GPS units in tests -- and some say it navigates just as well as newer, more expensive nuvis. The Garmin nuvi 760 also includes some useful features that Garmin's new budget nuvis skip. For example, the nuvi 760 can save up to 10 of your favorite routes, find the most efficient route to hit all of your errand destinations and even tell you where you parked your car. However, the nuvi 760 lacks some of Garmin's latest advances: you can't command it with your voice, and it doesn't come with free traffic alerts for life.
The Garmin nuvi 760 is one of the most thoroughly tested and reviewed GPS units on the market. GPSMagazine.com and ConsumerReports.org compare the nuvi 760 against competitors in head-to-head tests. Although tests at PCMag.com, GPSLodge.com and About.com are not head-to-head, the reviewers do draw comparisons with rival units from other brands, as well as other nuvi models. Amazon.com posts a large number of user reviews, giving good insight into how the nuvi 760 has performed for its owners.
