The TomTom Go 930 includes two features that impress critics. IQ routes picks the fastest routes by considering not only posted speed limits, but also actual speeds achieved by TomTom users. Advanced lane guidance shows which lane you'll need to be in at an upcoming intersection, similar to the lane-assist function offered on Garmin's new nuvi 7x5 series, including the top-rated Garmin nuvi 765T (Discontinued). Both new features are also available on the TomTom Go 730 (Discontinued), but the Go 730 does not include maps of Europe or "dead reckoning," a function that allows the Go 930 to keep navigating even if it loses its satellite lock (such as in a tunnel). Although testers find that both IQ routes and advanced lane guidance usually work well, they are not available in all areas. And reviewers find that the Go 930 still suffers from flaws found on previous TomTom GPS devices. The TomTom Home software is so buggy it crashed testers' computers, and the Go 930's voice-command feature is very limited, unlike the voice-operated Garmin nuvi 855 (Discontinued). The TomTom Go 930T (Discontinued) is an identical unit that adds an integrated Traffic Message Channel receiver and one free year of traffic service.

ConsumerReports.org tests the TomTom Go 930's navigation, usability and more, ranking it against dozens of other GPS units. Reviews at GPSLodge.com and PC World offer a thorough look at the Go 930's unique features. Testing is limited at CNET and About.com, where reviewers mostly list the Go 930's features. Amazon.com is the richest source of user reviews we found for the Go 930.
