Amazing Device, Great Value, November 24, 2009

This is a powerful little device which has all of the necessary tools a GPS should have. I bought this device as I was traveling to Europe and didn't want to spend money on just a European GPS. This device comes with both North America and European maps. I have now used it for almost 4 months and I couldn't have been happier. I used the GPS extensively in Europe and it was spot on with it's directions and route calculations. Even in North America it was helpful and got me where I needed to go. Some of the Pro's and Con's for the device Pros: Has both NA and EU maps. Nice sleek design with a wide screen FM connectivity is awesome. I was able to put a 2GB SD card with my own music and played it through the Car speakers. It is nice option to have rather than carrying your MP3 player. Bluetooth Remote is a plus Nice User interface which is very easy to use Advanced Lane Guidance is very helpful when it is available, on very few exits. But the Regular Lane Guidance on the bottom left of home screen helps a lot when driving on unfamiliar roads Cons: Even though i bought the device in Sep 2009 it came with Maps from Jun 2008. It was a disappointment to have such outdated maps. But one can update them for another $100 dollars. I chose to stick to the old maps and it worked out well The device takes longer than normal to reboot. I had to do a hard reset a few times Overall, the device for $$ value is worth it. If you keep in mind that you are getting almost $250 off a new unit. The very few cons more than make up for it. I was a little skeptical about buying a refurb product but after using it I am glad I bought it.

Buyers beware!, October 23, 2009

Possibly the worst Tomtom have have ever purchased! I have had to return it. The battery life was terrible (20 mins once fully charged), the crandle would never stick on the windscreen. The sound was muffled and distorted. Just buy the new one, clearly the devices are factory refurbished for a reason. Also, for UK users, it does not allow you to enter the full post-code. It only lets you enter the 1st part. Completely useless device!

Meh, October 8, 2009
I love to use tomtom... esp. being in the UK i rely on it most of the time i am on the road. When my Tomtom 920t flew out of my window i couldn't travel very much. But now that i have my 930 i am happy with it... it has the same features as my 920 as well as more.
Piece of junk, horrible warranty service, October 5, 2009

TomTom is without any doubt the WORSE GPS unit/ Customer service / Warranty service of ANY GPS manufacturer. My first TomTom the on/off switch was so flimsy it would turn the unit on by itself while it was sitting in the car or on a desk. TomTom finally replaced that one under warranty, but the reconditioned repair they sent runs out of battery power after 45 minutes without being plugged in. When turned off fully charged, the battery will be completely dead within a week WITHOUT the unit being turned on. I called TomTom customer service, and their warranty department tells me they WILL NOT WARRANTY REPLACE a GPS unit that runs at least 30 minutes under battery power. Also, they told me it was normal for their GPS units to run the battery down within a week WHILE TURNED OFF, and will only replace it under warranty if the battery dies completely within 2-3 days while the unit is turned off. To recap, TomTom warranty says a fully charged battery only lasts 30 minutes, and a fully charged battery will die after 2-3 days with the TomTom GPS TURNED OFF. So, if you want to be like me and have a hundred dollar paperweight after purchasing it only 10 months ago, buy this GPS for yourself, or even as a gift! Otherwise, I would avoid this manufacturers products entirely. Arthur Penrose p.s. TomTom customer service, if you are reading this, my case number for the facts in this review is 091006-000350. I would not want anyone to think I was making any of this up.

If there is a electronic device I have never regret buying this is the one., September 6, 2009

Amazing device, this is one of the most useful things you will ever buy, it will allow you to go anywhere and I mean everywhere. I consider TomTom GPS to be the best because if you do a little research you will find ways to add functionality like reproducing videos, reading pdf's, etc, while the GPS functionality is of course unaffected. The free updates done by other users and verified by tomtom are really useful, some times it losses the signal when really high building are all around, or when you are underground, but that's not really a problem. Sometimes it gets a little bit lost probably because I have old maps and I'm not really willing to pay for new ones, however that has never stop me to get wherever I need to go. I does give you a better driving experience. A must have if you are in a new to a city or if you are really new to driving or both as was my case when I bought it. Good luck and good driving.
