BornFree plastic baby bottles are well liked by both professional and consumer reviewers. Though they are made of plastic, the plastic doesn't contain BPA, a chemical that's been linked to a range of health risks. Parents like the valve and venting systems on the BornFree baby bottles, and many say their babies spit up less frequently when using these bottles. Some parents complain of leakage, while others note that problem is easily remedied by ensuring that the nipple and valve are inserted properly. Many reviewers say these bottles work well for transitioning between breast and bottle, due in part to the wide nipple base, which mimics the shape of a breast.

BornFree bottles all have wide necks, which makes cleaning easier. These baby bottles have fewer parts and are easier to clean than Dr. Brown's Natural Flow bottles (*est. $7 for one 8-oz. bottle), although Dr. Brown's bottles are rated higher for colicky babies. If you're looking for a less expensive, standard baby bottle, Evenflo Classic Glass Nursers (*est. $2 for one 8-oz. bottle) work well for many parents.

The best reviews of BornFree plastic bottles come from consumer-review sites ToysRUs.com and Amazon.com, with well over 250 reviews combined. While consumer reviews tend to be mixed, they're an excellent source of information to help overcome common problems, i.e. adjusting the valve and nipple to prevent leakage. Target.com has fewer reviews for BornFree bottles, although the comments are similar to those on other review sites. ZRecommends.com, Cookie magazine and 3Luxe.com offer the best objective reviews in professional sources. Z Recommends provides the best rating system, although the reviews are based on the opinions of one individual.
