Not as hard as I expected..., November 15, 2009

Overall, I love my Moby and would definitely recommend it to others. I would, however, strongly advise new parents to try out the Moby (at a store, at a friend's house... wherever you can find one!) BEFORE the baby is born. You can get a good idea of how the Moby works without an actual baby on hand. (Use a stuffed animal or a doll or, if you have access to one, someone else's baby!) It is really not that hard, but EVERYTHING seems totally impossible when you have a newborn wailing in your arms. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I saw a Moby Wrap on sale for $25 (new!) and decided to spring for it. At the time, I figured I would probably not actually end up using it much-- it seemed WAY too complicated for me. I'm the kind of person who is so uncoordinated that I occasionally fall over while I'm putting pants on. (Really, I wish I was joking, but I'm not!) So I didn't have high hopes for the Moby but I figured enh, it's cheap, lots of people like them, maybe it'll be okay... Shortly thereafter, I tried it out with my friend's five month old son. To my surprise, it was actually pretty easy. I just followed the steps and pictures in the manual. (There are apparently videos on the Moby website too, but I didn't end up needing them so no idea if they're good or not.) I started using my Moby with my son about 3 days after he was born. He was a big newborn-- 9 lbs at birth-- and without the Moby, I don't know how I would have walked him around during his fussy times. He's a HUGE two month old now-- about 16 lbs-- and we're still loving the Moby. I've heard that a lot of people don't like them as much as their babies approach 20lbs, but for us, so far so good. The one thing that I don't love about the Moby is the heat factor. Babies generate a lot of heat, and the Moby holds a lot of it in. That's nice right now since it's cold, but I can definitely see it causing problems in warmer weather.

frustrating beyond belief, November 12, 2009

I am so disappointed in this ridiculously long piece of fabric. It is soft and the sand color is pretty, but thats it! It drags on the floor and you have to spend time adjusting it so it isnt tangled. I still cant get it to crisscross properly w/out the front hanging all over the place. I am not happy and would never recommend it. There are less complicated wraps out there I will try. Waste of $$$!!

Moby wrap is great, November 8, 2009
I gave this to my daughter in law after we found the sling she had did not work right and hurt her neck and back. She loves this one, finds it easy to use, takes the baby for walks in it and finds that she can get things done with the baby in the wrap. We would recommend it for all new mom's. It is easy to wrap, can use different positions and it cleans up easily as well.
Worst baby product I've ever bought, November 7, 2009

Wow, where to begin. First off, just know that the Moby wrap is essentially a 20 foot long piece of semi-stretchy fabric. That's it. And what you're supposed to do is wrap this 20 foot long thing around your body. So just imagine trying to do that... both ends are dragging all around the floor, you're doing all sorts of wrapping and tucking and folding... the thing is just completely unwieldy. It's nothing but frustration. So, let's say you finally manage to get it wrapped around your body. Now, you have to figure a way to stuff your baby into one of the folds of the wrap. And if you manage to get your baby in there (good luck doing it on your own), now you have to make sure he/she stays in there... if you didn't wrap it just right around your body, there won't be enough support to keep him/her supported hands-free. I'm sure people will say that I'm not doing it right, etc. But listen, it's a friggen baby sling. I don't want to sit around having to study how to put this thing on and then practicing it until I can do it in an efficient manner. My wife and I gave it about 5 serious attempts at getting it right, and we finally just gave up. I mean, seriously, imagine that your baby is crying away... are you really going to be in the mood to wrap this ginormous swath of cloth around your body, hope you did it correctly, and then try to stuff your baby into it? Ugh, worst product ever. Just thinking about it makes me angry.

I love moby wrap, October 25, 2009
The Moby Wrap is a great carrier for both mom, dad and baby. It is very comfortable for both parent and child. It extremely versitile. You can use it for an infant or a toddler! I used it alot to soothe my newborn, he loved being so snug and the vibrations of my voice and heartbeat seemed to satisfy him as well. This is also a very decently priced wrap, and it washes well.
