The DaVinci Kalani Convertible Crib generally earns high marks from consumers, who appreciate its sturdiness, sleigh style and reasonable price. The crib's variety of finishes, four mattress-height levels and ability to convert into a toddler bed, daybed and full-size bed (rail kit purchased separately) also draw favorable comments from owners. However, Kalani critics report that the soft pine construction is easily scratched and dented, and the finish is prone to chipping. While owners of both the Graco Lauren (*Est. $149) and Sarah convertible cribs (*Est. $150) tell of similar wood and finish issues, they cost significantly less than the DaVinci Kalani and receive better reviews overall.
We found crib ratings in the latest edition of "Baby Bargains," and on Bestcovery.com and HubPages.com. Scores of parents post feedback on the DaVinci Kalani on BabiesRUs.com, Target.com and Cribs.com. These reviews provide valuable information on how to set up the crib, how different mattresses fit in it and various issues that can occur over time, such as the finish warping and crib-to-bed conversion difficulties.
