Ikea Gulliver Crib

The Ikea Gulliver Crib is rated highly in one baby-gear book for its affordability and durability, and it's selected in two "best cribs" lists. The white-finish version (*Est. $100) is constructed from solid beech with a tinted acrylic lacquer. The main parts of the natural-finish version (*Est. $130) are made of solid birch, a durable hardwood, with a clear acrylic lacquer; its base features solid beech construction. The finishes on both are nontoxic.

While the Ikea Gulliver is a very basic crib, some experts say basic is best, and they appreciate its clean lines and minimalist design. The crib offers two mattress heights, and one side removes for use as a toddler daybed, but it doesn't convert into a regular bed.
