Reviewers concede that it's expensive, but the Stokke Sleepi Crib is part of a flexible system that can adapt from a bassinet (with separately purchased mini kit) to a full-size crib to a toddler bed to a child's bed (with separately purchased junior kit) to two chairs. Available in six finishes, the Sleepi has a distinctive oval shape that is roomy enough for a sleeping toddler but narrow enough to wheel through doorways on its locking casters. Four mattress heights accommodate a growing baby. This crib receives excellent reviews from parents, who like its modern design and convenient size in a small room or apartment. If $850 (plus the cost of a mattress and bedding) sounds a bit steep, you may want to consider the DaVinci Emily Mini Crib (*Est. $160).
The Stokke Sleepi Crib receives in-depth owner reviews at Epinions.com and the "Baby Bargains" website. It's also discussed in the popular book "Baby Bargains," and mentioned in the best cribs lists on MomFinds.com, Babble.com and People.com.
