Despite a few highly positive reviews of the Secure Sounds 2.4 GHz Digital Monitor, average customer ratings are quite poor, and professional reviewers are also unimpressed with Summer Infant monitors. However, battery life is a high point in one review. In the same price range, the Safety 1st High-Def Digital Monitor (*Est. $50) is a DECT digital model that draws better reviews; DECT digital monitors in general are better at minimizing interference from other electronics.

Baby Bargains includes the Summer Infant Secure Sounds 2.4 GHz Digital Monitor in its helpful review of baby monitors. For owner-written reviews, Amazon.com is a good first stop. Along with enough posts to provide a good picture of how this baby monitor performs under everyday conditions, Amazon.com has a useful ratings breakdown and an easy-to-read format. Target.com and Walmart.com offer only a handful of reviews each, making them less useful for potential buyers. Consumer Reports also includes this baby monitor in its most recent review.

2. Amazon.com

Of the several sites where users can post their own ratings of the Summer Infant Secure Sounds 2.4 GHz Digital Monitor, Amazon.com has by far the largest number of reviews with more than two dozen. It also averages the lowest overall score: About half of the owners give the Secure Sounds just 1 star (out of 5).
