January 2009. According to reviews, the Arundale Sky Cafe is a large capacity bird feeder that is virtually squirrel proof. Its domed, Plexiglas hopper holds over five quarts of seed and has room for 10 or more birds. Reviewers say that the Sky Café's roof, shaped like an upside-down funnel, shields seed from squirrels and bad weather, and the 1.5-gallon hopper is easy to fill and to clean. A few otherwise-pleased owners report that the Plexiglas shattered when they accidentally dropped the feeder. The Sky Café comes with a lifetime warranty, however, so replacement parts are free. Some users also report that seed may spill from this feeder when it gets tossed by wind or wildlife.
We found the most informative reviews of the Arundale Sky Café in Bird Watcher's Digest and Bill Adler, Jr.'s book, "Outwitting Squirrels."
1. Bird Watchers Digest.com
This excellent report summarizes the results of field tests conducted by five Bird Watcher's Digest readers of 13 different squirrel-proof feeders including, Arundale's Sky Café. One tester, who witnessed a squirrel sliding off the roof, gives it "high marks" and notes only one minor flaw -- some seed spilling onto the ground.

2. Outwitting Squirrels
This insightful and entertaining book about squirrels and how to defeat them rates 19 commercial feeders on a scale of one to five. The Arundale Mandarin (which is just like the Sky Café except that it has stick-like perches instead of a tray) earns a perfect score for "squirrelproofness," "ease of refilling", "seed capacity" and "overall."
Review: Rating the Feeders, Bill Adler, Jr., 1996
Owners' comments verify this feeder repels rain and squirrels, and birds "love" it; but three users report it can shatter if accidentally dropped.
