Pleasantly surprised, November 18, 2009

I held off on ordering this model primarily based upon some of the comments regarding noise level, since I tend to be more sensitive to noise than most. While I'm not saying it's quiet (are there any good blenders that are?), I was pleasantly surprised by not having to so much as consider earplugs as a necessary accessory when using it to make a slushie, which it did in no time flat. This machine is fearless when it comes to making snow out of ice cubes, even with very little liquid as a buffer. When it comes to something without any frozen components, the noise level is, of course, much less. It's nice looking, sturdy, powerful, easy to clean, easy to use, and grips the counter like a champ even during the most demanding tasks. I almost paid ten times this much for blender when I decided to take a gamble on this one. It was a good decision :)

Defective Blender, November 11, 2009
After two uses the Oster Pro Blender is total junk; leaking water from pitcher bearing into the motor compartment destroying the motor. Warranty policies are deceptive and evasive that such a disreputable company as Better Chef Direct shouldn't be allowed to advertise on Amazon.
Great deal, a real workhorse, October 28, 2009

This blender was a great buy for my husband and me. We make smoothies every day, and our old Osterizer from the 70's was starting to give out on us. We wanted a blender that could take our abuse and also be compatible with our old blender's jar. This blender can crush ice and whip up a smoothie or milkshake in no time, and without having to scrape the sides down during blending like other blenders. We've also made marinades and sauces in it, and they have blended beautifully. I don't know why other reviewers have called this a "loud" blender, because it's just as loud as any other blenders I have heard. The only thing that would make this blender better would be if the base were all-metal instead of die-cast. But even though it is die-cast it is heavy enough to stay still on the counter while blending.

I've had this blender for more than a month and it's wonderful. It not only makes perfect smoothies but it makes great bread crumbs too. I know there were some complaints about noise, but it works so fast you barely have time to hear it. And it's easy to clean. A+
Outstanding Blender at a Great Price, October 22, 2009
This blender is outstanding especially for the price point it is at. We make smoothies all the time with it. If you like to make smoothies, I would recommend this blender.
