B.O.B. jogging strollers recalled due to strangulation hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation BOB Trailers Inc, announced a voluntary recall today of 11 models of their single and double strollers (approximately 337,000 in the U.S.) following a report of an 11-month-old girl becoming entangled at the neck by the stroller's drawing. Luckily her mother was able to free her.

Models Affected: The below chart lists the11 models of B.O.B. single and double strollers that are being recalled. All of the recalled strollers have a yellow/orange drawstring at the rear of the canopy which is used to gather loose fabric when the canopy is pulled back. Strollers have the serial number either stamped in the frame or on a white label located on the stroller's rear right leg. They were sold at REI, buy buy Baby and other stores nationwide and on the Web at Babiesrus.com, Target.com and Amazon.com between April 2002 and February 2011 for between $300 and $600.

What to Do: Stop using the recalled strollers and remove the drawstring immediately. See below for the best remedy for you. According to a company representative, you can resume using the stroller once the drawstring is removed.
