Will the Perfect Brownie really put an end to bakers' remorse? Reviews are pretty mixed, but tend to fall on the positive side.
Three news stations put the Perfect Brownie to the test. Steve Noviello, a reporter for KDFW (Dallas), asks a volunteer tester to give it a try in his "Deal or Dud" segment. Tester Jennifer Wilkin is impressed by the overall results, but notes that one of the brownies stuck a little, even after coating the divider with nonstick spray. In another review for KPLC (Lake Charles, La.), Jeff Jumper says that brownies would come out just as good in a standard pan, but the Perfect Brownie makes them easier to serve. He experiences some minimal leaking, but says you can line the pan with foil to avoid it. A tester at KFVS (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) gives the Perfect Brownie a grade of C-plus; her main complaint is that the serving tray tends to slide off the pedestal.
An enthusiastic video review of the Perfect Brownie can be seen at StarReviews.com. The user raves about the pan and gives it the highest possible rating. Ashlee Thacker, an unsatisfied owner at AssociatedContent.com, describes her experience with the Perfect Brownie. She coated and floured both the pan and the divider -- 54 sides in total -- and said it was too time-consuming. Despite her efforts, she claims the brownies still stuck.
Close to 60 owners weigh in at Amazon.com, and about two-thirds of them appear to be satisfied. Those who like the Perfect Brownie say it creates great-tasting, evenly-shaped brownies that are easy to serve. Complaints include leaks and uneven baking.
Most reviewers agree that the Perfect Brownie produces even squares and allows for easy serving, an advantage to cutting them by hand in a normal pan. Many owners also like the fact that the baking set is dishwasher-safe, making cleanup easy. Leaks are a common complaint, but they can be prevented by placing a cooking sheet underneath the pan or lining it with foil. Despite some flaws, the Perfect Brownie might actually get you a little closer to perfection.
