If you need some serious suction to banish all of Fido's fur....
Stop by Target this Black Friday. A leaked circular has revealed the store will be discounting the well-reviewed Dyson DC-17 Absolute Animal vacuum cleaner from its regular price of $549 down to $349; a substantial $200 savings. Picking up stubborn pet fur is this vacuum's forte. The Dyson DC-17 has garnered several positive professional and hundreds of glowing owner reviews. Most owners also rave about this Dyson vac's low noise level, lifetime-warrantied HEPA filter and powered hand tool for easier cleaning. It also comes with a five-year warranty. The downside? The DC-17 Absolute Animal is heavy to lug around.
For early birds, Sears will offer its Kenmore Progressive Upright, a ConsumerSearch Best Reviewed vacuum, on Black Friday. The Kenmore will be offered at 30% off, marked down from from $300 to $200 that day. This bagless Kenmore, which is repeatedly praised in both owner and professional reviews, has the ability to "sense" dirtier spots and adjust its cleaning power accordingly to ensure more efficient vacuuming. Many owners also appreciate its EPA filtration (which helps control emissions) and powerful suction, which reportedly makes quick work of annoying pet hair. The hitch: The leaked circular indicates that Sears will only release five of these vacuums per store at this price.
If you prefer a cheaper vac for mainly hard floors....
Head to Kohl's. This year, the store will offer the highly-rated Hoover Wind Tunnel Cyclonic vacuum, regularly $250, for $150 that day. Owners and experts agree that it's a very good canister vacuum that excels at cleaning bare floors while keeping its emissions low. To further sweeten the deal, Kohl's shoppers will also receive a $10 discount for every 50 dollars they spend that day.
If you're looking for lighter vacuum to tackle trickier nooks and crannies...
Kohl's plans to offering Shark's UltraLite MultiVac, regularly $140, for $120 on Black Friday. This unique vacuum (it only weighs 11lbs -- a lightweight in the vacuum world) is versatile: It can quickly transform to become a hand vac, a portable canister vacuum or an upright stick vac. Its folding handle is designed to make cleaning under and around furniture easier. Reviewers at Viewpoints and BestBuy.com give this vac an average rating of four stars out of five. Others also rave about its maneuverability and suction power. The Shark's UltraLite MultiVac comes with a five year limited warranty.
