micro chip crispr test video

A couple weeks ago, we posted photos of a mystery gadget on our Facebook page, asking readers for their guesses as to what it was. "It" turned out to be a Micro Chip Crisp'r (*Est. $6), a plastic gadget to make your own potato chips in the microwave.

We got plenty of oddball replies. Many people thought it had something to do with bundt cakes; a couple readers thought it was a U.F.O., while a few others suggested devices that we can't discuss on a family-oriented website like ConsumerSearch.

Strangely, almost no one asked if the darn thing even worked. So we decided to put it to the test.

You can see the results on our YouTube channel or in the video embedded below.

Thanks to everyone who participated. If you have any fun mystery gadgets that you think would stump our users (or even our editors), post them to our Facebook Page.

NOTE: Potatoes were harmed during the making of this video.
