After scanning this long list, we were delighted to see the Hoover Wind Tunnel and Dyson vacuums above. The reason: Dyson has a good track record when it comes to putting out solid vacuums. In fact, the company's DC18 Slim All Floors is a ConsumerSearch Best Reviewed vacuum and their DC15 All Floors is a runner-up in our latest report.
Overall, the Dyson DC 14 gets good reviews. Users at Amazon.com give this vacuum a high rating; it earns 4 stars out of five. Designed to clean all floor types, both Dyson models have what's called Root Cyclone Technology, a trait that ensures they'll never lose their suction power, according to the manufacturer. Users of both models also appreciate the company's 5 year warranty on parts and lifetime HEPA filtration warranty. Many owners comment on the Dyson vacs' cleaning attachments. One standout, a telescoping reach wand, releases and expands 17-feet to assist users in high-reach cleaning.
The Dyson DC25 also receives rave reviews: an average 4.5 stars out of five at Amazon.com. It possesses the same traits as the DC14, but this vacuum sits on a ball enabling users to more easily twist and turn around obstacles when cleaning.
Hoover's Wind Tunnel Cyclonic vacuum is also praised in one reputable professional review. Testers say it's "a very good canister vacuum that excelled at cleaning bare floors and keeping its emissions low."
To further sweeten the deal, Kohl's Black Friday shoppers will also receive a $10 discount for every 50 dollars they spend that day.
Not to be outdone, Sears will offer its Kenmore Progressive Upright, a ConsumerSearch Best Reviewed vacuum, on Black Friday. It will be offered at 30% off, marked down from from $300 to $200 that day. The hitch: The leaked circular indicates that Sears will only release five of these vacuums at this price.
So if you're in the market for a new vacuum, venture out this Black Friday. You'll be glad you did.
