In autos
General Motors recalled some 4,300 2012 Chevrolet Sonic vehicles because the front brake inner or outer pads may be missing, affecting brake performance and increasing the risk of crash. GM will begin notifying owners on or before Jan. 14, 2012 and dealers will replace the pads free of charge. In home products
Uni-O Industries recalled 4,530 O-Grill Portable Gas Grills (pictured above) because the grill's regulator can leak gas, posing a fire and burn hazard. The company has received 10 reports of the grills catching fire. This recall involves Iroda O-Grill models 1000 and 3000 produced before 2010. Some were sold under the Tailgating Gear brand. The recalled grills were sold through LL Bean, Stoneman, BBQG, Walgreens, REI, Dillards and Dick's Sporting Goods nationwide from November 2008 through December 2010. In food safety
Winn-Dixie issued a voluntary recall of cans of Winn-Dixie Italian Green Beans because they may contain peanut shells, posing a health risk to those with peanut allergies. The recalled product is sold in the 14.5 oz can with a UPC code of 2114021236 and a best by date of Sept. 2014. Consumers may return the product for a full refund.
Bekkum Family Farms recalled Grumpy Goat Shreds, in 8-ounce bags with the code date 10-MAR-12, sold under its Nordic Creamery label, because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled product was sold in stores in California, Minnesota and Wisconsin beginning Nov. 11.
Martinelli's voluntarily recalled certain lots of its Gold Medal Sparkling Cider sold in the Western United States in six-pack shrink-bundled 250 mL glass bottles because the possibility of a defective seal that could break when opening the bottle. The Best By dates affected are 11APR 2014, 12 APR 2014, 13 APR 2014, and 14 APR 2014. Consumers may return the product to the place of purchase for refund or credit.
In personal care products
HimalayaUSA issued a voluntary recall on its Organique by Himalaya Nourishing Night Cream because the product may be contaminated with bacteria staphylococcus aureus and fungus. The recalled product includes batch #S691001 and batch #S691002, sold in a cylinder shaped teal bottle with an orange cap. The batch numbers are located on the bottom of the bottle.
