Twice a year, vendors, store buyers and journalists from all over the world descend on New York City to attend and exhibit at the New York International Gift Fair. I've been covering the show for over ten years and I'm always excited by the new and creative products I find. This year was no disappointment. Check out some of my favorite introductions from last week's show--I can't wait to get my hands on them.
Perfect for outdoor entertaining, this salad bowl has a sleek carrying handle that makes it easy to tote from the kitchen to the garden. Portable salads by Eva Solo, $49; evasolo.com for a store near you.
This BPA free bottle won't hit stores until later in the spring but it's worth the wait. It holds 18-ounces of liquid and the top screws all the way off, making it super easy to add ice and clean (it's dishwasher-safe, by the way). Aladdin Water Vessel, price is yet to be determined but keep track of it at aladdin-pmi.com.
Umbra's Doggie Barrel makes even this pet-free lady (thanks allergies) want a new best friend. The super lightweight barrel clips onto your dog's collar and holds baggies for cleaning up on a walk. Doggie Barrel, $6; umbra.com.
My two year old will go crazy for the iWood! While she's mastered the iPad finger swipe (whose kid hasn't), good old analog chalk is just as much fun. iWood, $60; Available in March pylones-usa.com.
The Thermo Pot will keep food hot for six hours, which mean soup you heat at 7am will still be warm when it's time for lunch. It has a vacuum seal cork top and a spoon that magnetically attaches. Thermo Pot by Black + Blum, $42; available in March, black-blum.com for more information.
Finally, something that makes running errands easier! Stash this attractive tote in your freezer (it rolls up for easy storing) and then take it along with you to grocery store. Since it will keep food cool for up to 6 hours, I think I'll sneak in a quick manicure on the way home from the market tomorrow! Shop Cooler from Pack It, $24.99; packitcool.com for store locations near you.
Baking is instantly more fun with these bright nesting mixing bowls and measuring cups. Joseph Joseph nesting bowls and cups, $50 for the mixing bowls and $10 for the measuring cups; available in mid-April at josephjospeh.com.
