Recall recap: Fire hazards from printers, fax machines, and furnaces; fall hazards from strollers; and contaminated egg products in 34 states

Several products were recalled this week for posing fire hazards to consumers. The biggest such recall involves 928,000 HP fax machines. Two different Bumbleride strollers may put children at risk for a fall. And a supplier of egg products used in sandwiches and salads by numerous retailers issued a warning of possible Listeria contamination.

Printer guzzling ink? It's not just your imagination

If you feel like you're constantly replacing the ink in your printer, you're not the only one. Hewlett-Packard recently settled a class-action lawsuit accusing it of selling ink-drinking printers for the past decade.

The settlement actually covers three separate lawsuits. One claimed that some HP printers use color ink to print black-and-white pages, without telling users or allowing them to change the setting. Another alleged that the printers gave false "low on ink" readings (so users would replace cartridges sooner), and another claimed that some HP ink cartridges simply quit working on secret expiration dates.
