I love good design. When I was renovating my kitchen I chose white glass front appliances--they blend right in with my shiny white cabinets from Ikea. My French door refrigerator by Jenn Air, with its bottom freezer and water filter tucked inside the door, is super slick. I loved the way it looked when it was first installed and then I started using it. Who knew that 26 cubic feet would not be big enough for a young family? And I never realized how many times a day my children would open the fridge (sometimes both doors and the freezer drawer all at once) in search of juice. So last week, at the Kenmore preview, I went head over heels for a new French door fridge, which will hit stores in January 2012.
Let me explain my excitement:
The Kenmore Elite Trio has 31 cubic feet of storage--it looked huge when I opened it up! Certainly deep enough to house the gallons and gallons of milk we seem to consume. And it features a "Grab-n-Go" door, which is a separate refrigerator compartment tucked inside the right hand door. You open it from the outside but load it from the inside and it is deep enough to hold milk and juice cartons. My kids can get to the stuff they want without letting all the cool air out. Genius! Now if I can only get them to pour a glass of milk without spilling it all over the counter.
Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think about it, post a comment here or on our Facebook page.
Kenmore Elite Trio (35 ¾" W x 70 ¼" H x 35 7/8" D), retail price TBD.
