Bentley Child Seats

Let's say you've spent upwards of $200,000 (probably well upwards) on your shiny new Bentley -- hand-picked paint-color, fully customized interior appointments, the works -- a sybaritic tour de force. This is a gorgeous place to be, but a store-bought child seat or booster will bring the cabin's ambiance downmarket in a hurry -- at least it will if you live in the U.S. But if you live in the U.K. (and, possibly, other markets in Europe), you have options. Lots of 'em. Just bring money. (That shouldn't be a problem, right?)

But first, a little background info. Here's the thing about Bentley: when it comes to its customers, the word "no" is generally not in the automaker's lexicon.  Hence, when you walk into a showroom, the myriad paint, wood and leather samples on display are merely guidelines. If, say, you have a tree on your property that you'd like used to form the interior wood accents, Bentley will send a crew to cut it down, and in due course, Bentley craftsmen will take that wood and then meticulously hand-form it, varnish it, and fit it to your car. This isn't a made-up story -- the Bentley folks told us firsthand. That's the level of customization available; they'll go to extreme lengths to satisfy customer requests.

It makes sense then, that Bentley would start offering child seats and boosters adorned to exactly match customers' cars' interiors. (The seats themselves are supplied to Bentley by Britax.)  As you might expect, these are not budget items. For example, a forward-facing child seat with ISOFIX (ISOFIX is the European equivalent to LATCH) done up in a standard color/stitching/fluting scheme retails for £2,516.21. When junior's ready to upgrade to a booster, Bentley will happily sell you one of those, too. Those sell for £2,351.78 -- again, in a standard trim scheme. If your car is not outfitted in one of the standard combinations (and the overwhelming majority of Bentleys sold feature at least some degree of customization),  Bentley will fully customize the child seat or booster to match the car's interior specifications exactly. At additional cost, of course. So don't worry about whether your kiddie seat will match the blue-stitched, diamond-quilt-pattern Alcantara (synthetic suede) seat inserts you ordered for your Continental GTC. Bentley's got your back.

Suddenly, those regular Britax seats you've been shopping around for don't seem all that expensive anymore, do they?
