So you're in your living room, sporting your alma mater's colors, screaming at your TV as your school's unranked football team battles for the highly-coveted Brand-X Whatever Bowl trophy. If this loosely describes your behavior at any point over the last week and a half or so, it means that you're a committed sports junkie, and that your team isn't in the running for the national championship. (That game's not until Thursday, after all.)
If you have children, chances are you've already begun indoctrinating them in the art of Which School To Root For. Namely, yours. While we were readying our recently-updated convertible car seats report for publication, a colleague piped up to let us know even that product segment now accommodates lunatic fans like you.
"You know, Britax has NCAA-themed car seats," he offered. Really? We were intrigued. This colleague, who proudly hangs a University of Virginia banner in the cubicle he shares with yours truly, spoke from personal experience. He explained that he has two Virginia-emblazoned seats mounted in his car, ensuring that his sons will be reminded exactly Which School To Root For every time they're buckled in for a ride.
These NCAA-themed Britax Marathon car seats are distributed exclusively via a company named Toddler Teams. While you can expect to pay around $280 for a Marathon in one of the standard colors or patterns, if you wish to promote your alma matter, be ready to pony up an additional $50 or so -- the seats retail for around $330 at Amazon.com. If you already have a Marathon, you can simply buy an NCAA-themed cover separately, but even then, you'll still have to part with $85.
