The A&D Medical LifeSource UA-787AC (which has been replaced by the UA-787EJ with a memory capacity of 60 readings) is a full-featured blood pressure monitor that gets high ratings for accuracy in reviews. The self-inflating A&D LifeSource UA-787AC uses the company's EasyCuff, which is two inches larger than most medium cuffs to fit more upper-arm sizes. The memory can store 30 blood pressure readings, along with date and time. Some reviewers say the memory interface could be improved. Three programmable alarms remind users to take blood pressure readings and an irregular heartbeat feature compensates for that condition. If you don't like arm cuffs in general, the Omron HEM-637 (*est. $95) uses a wrist cuff instead.
To assess the A&D UA-787AC's accuracy, we turned to PubMed, where we found a summary of professional testing by researchers at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Padova in Italy. We also found a basic review by Paige Waehner, About.com's Exercise Guide. We found user reviews of the A&D Medical LifeSource UA-787AC blood pressure monitor at both Amazon.com and Epinions.
