The Cosco Highrise is the least expensive booster seat recommended by reviewers. Like other boosters, this simple backless model works with the car's safety best, positioning it correctly over a child's body. The Highrise has little in the way of extras, although there is a flip-down cup holder that some parents say they find useful. In professional reviews, this seat doesn't fare as well as the top-rated Combi Dakota (Discontinued), but if price is your top priority, experts say this seat does the job it was designed to do. There is one caveat though. Although the manufacturer rates this seat for 30 pounds and up, child passenger safety technicians generally don't recommend backless booster seats for kids that light. Heather Watson of CarseatBlog.com writes, "Oh, and 30 lbs. minimum weight limit? Hopefully you've been hanging around here long enough to know that we advocate a 40 lbs. minimum on boosters."
The Cosco Highrise booster seat is covered in both our top sources: ConsumerReports.org and "Baby Bargains." The two resources take very different approaches. ConsumerReports.org's bare-bones tables rely on rigorous testing, while the thorough write-ups in "Baby Bargains" draw on research and reader input. CarseatBlog.com offers an expert perspective from child passenger safety technician Heather Watson. We found user reviews of the Cosco Highrise at Buzzillions.com and Viewpoints.com.

"Baby Bargains" touches briefly on the Cosco Highrise Booster as part of its in-depth report on car seats. Authors Denise and Alan Fields discuss this seat's features and assign a letter grade for easy comparison with competing backless boosters.

CarseatBlog.com covers three backless booster seats, including the Cosco Highrise, in its top child safety seat recommendations. Heather Watson says the Highrise is cheap, lightweight and narrow but cautions that the stated 30-pound minimum weight is really too low for any child to be in a backless booster seat.

Viewpoints.com has more than a hundred reviews of the Cosco High Rise booster, most from satisfied parents who say it's a nice simple seat at a great price. Although the praise isn't unanimous, 87 percent of posters say they would recommend the Cosco Highrise.

Although it draws user reviews from multiple external sites, Buzzillions.com has only sparse coverage of the Cosco Highrise booster. Feedback is generally positive, although one poster does spark some controversy by questioning the safety of backless booster seats in general.
