The Graco Backless TurboBooster SafeSeat gets good coverage from experts, with a review in Consumer Reports and a nod in Baby Bargains. Consumer Reports has a long-standing reputation for independent testing, and the Graco is evaluated along with six other boosters for crash protection, ease of use and fit to vehicle. The book "Baby Bargains" doesn't include a separate write-up on the Backless TurboBooster, but gives it a mention in the "Best Bests" section.

The Graco Backless TurboBooster booster seat gets consistently high ratings from both expert and parent reviewers. Despite its low price and simple design, the Backless TurboBooster does exceptionally well in independent crash tests. It's not appropriate for children under 40 pounds, though. If your child weighs between 30 and 40 pounds and is ready for a booster, the Graco TurboBooster SafeSeat Step 3 (*est. $60) is a high-back version that can be converted to a backless model when the time comes. One common complaint about the Graco Backless TurboBooster is that since it's backless, it doesn't have side wings to support a napping child's head. If your child likes to nap in the car, the high-back SafeSeat is a better choice.
