It's easy to use, and bread comes out perfectly. Very rugged motor. After 6 months, the controls didn't function very well, so the West Bend people gave me a new unit. Customer service was exceptional. Frank J. DeLice, Amazon.com
Meets Expectations - Some problems with the motor reported within six months of use.
Simple - Automatic shut-off, non-stick loaf pan, and intuitive controls.
Not Too Shabby - This simple, white bread machine is a bit large for some countertops.
Ultra-Quiet - Doesn't make much noise, and doesn't move much during kneading.
The West Bend 2 Lb. Breadmaker 41400 has 12 different menu settings and three crust options for making different types of bread, dough, jams, and cake. Gluten-free recipes also come out satisfactory, Amazon reviewers say, although it doesn't have a gluten-free menu setting. The West Bend makes 1, 1.5, and 2-pound loaves of bread with a light, airy texture that slide right out of the non-stick loaf pan.
There are some complaints about weak motors, malfunctioning controls, and the pan's non-stick finish wearing off after a few months of use, but West Bend's customer service is cooperative and honors the one-year warranty.
