Can't live without it now!, November 19, 2009

I went from not knowing if I even needed a Bread machine to not wanting to live without it! This is a very easy to use, robust machine that pops out great bread after bread. It is not small, so think about counter and cabinet space, but because the loaf is horizontal, it is not as tall as some of the others. The bread is kneaded with 2 pedals, so the loafs are nice and evenly shaped, especially when you are making sourdough loafs involving a sponge. There is the availability of 3 custom cycles to totally customize based on your own recipes, but the pre-programmed cycles cover a large variety of applications. The machine is very easy to clean and handle. I recently read that the King Arthur Flour folks use this machine exclusively in their test kitchen. I can certainly understand why.

The best bread maker!, November 17, 2009

We have been using our Zojirushi bread maker for several years. Currently we make about a loaf a day. We have not purchased commercial bread in months. Sometimes the loafs are not perfect. Who cares the bread is great and as we grind our own wheat it is very nutritious. You get used to the holes on the bottom and they are a non-issue. We give loaves to our friends and neighbors and they love it. If things do not work as expected there are suggestions in the manual to resolve possible problems. Our experience is that as long as there is water, flour, and yeast the bread will turn out. It may be misshapen or not taste quite right (this happens when you forget the salt) but it is always good.

Worth Its Weight in Gold!!! A++++++++++++++++++, November 16, 2009

All I can say is WOW! This bread machine IS the best!!! It is super quiet. The pan doesn't come out. The one-time beeping to add ingredients is short and not "annoying" whatsoever. The pan is easy to clean. The setting options are great. The ability to set the crust to "light, medium or dark" works awesome! The double paddle makes a huge difference in quality. Don't ever immerse your pan in water - and don't put water into the pan until after it fully cools or it will bend (this is in the instructions). One word of advice... if you want your bread to come out great - don't SCOOP out the flour. If you SCOOP out the flour you will use too much flour. What you want to do is pour a few pounds of flour into a bowl and use a spoon to sprinkle the flour into a measuring cup. It takes a little extra time but the amount of flour you end up using will be perfect. Don't forget to top off each measuring cup with a knife so the flour doesn't overflow. Don't use tools that can scrape off the nonstick interior (you shouldn't ever need tools like that anyways). PS - I've never made bread before. I'm a newbie. I learned so much from everyone here that I wanted to include this info all together for future newbies because these tips really do work! My only problem is storing the bread - I'm getting bread bags tomorrow from Amazon.

Reliable Zojirushi BBCCX20 bread machine, November 15, 2009

I have purchased the Zojirushi baker nine months ago in the local store. I have made bread twice a week. I set up baking at night and let it proceed. Even though it made noise for making dough, I could tolerate this. I made bread at basic setting and let it proceed for three and half hours because this long hours could make a good swollen bread. I used one and half tsp. of Rapid Rise Yeast. I have used Instant Yeast (Fleischmanns) and highly satisfied with this. Its price is very cheap: 2 packs of one pound each for $7.70. I recommend this bread machine.

Zojirushi Junk, November 14, 2009

Don't buy a Zojirushi bread machine. I have an earlier model Zojirushi and no matter what I try I cannot get a decent loaf of bread. The bread always falls and turns into a door stop. I have contacted Zojirushi and they are no help. I had a much cheaper bread machine prior to this one which turned out great bread. You would think for the high price of the Zojirushi it would turn out the best bread but just the opposite has been my experience. I did not buy my machine from Amazon or I probably could have gotten a refund. Zojirushi does not want to talk about refunds. Do not buy Zojirushi!
