The Brunton Wind River Range is a serious dual-burner stove that reviewers say is a great choice for car-camping trips. It unfolds like a briefcase to reveal two 15,000-Btu propane burners, a storage compartment, plastic cutting board, windscreens and a removable stainless-steel grate. You can also attach an optional wash basin (*Est. $25). At 23 pounds, you won't be taking this camping stove on any backpacking trips, but it offers sturdy and reliable performance at the campground. Reviewers say one of the best features of the Brunton Wind River Range is its heat adjustability. Unlike most camping stoves, the Wind River Range can simmer food without scorching or burning. There are certainly cheaper dual-burner camping stoves out there, but we saw numerous reports of poor quality and construction defects for these inexpensive stoves. If you want something more portable that is also suitable for groups, the Jetboil Helios (*Est. $150) weighs 28 ounces and comes with a 2- or 3-liter cooking pot.
Dual-burner campground stoves attract fewer professional reviews than lightweight backpacking stoves. We did find reviews of the Brunton Wind River Range in SNews and Camping Life magazine. While both sources test the range, they do not compare the stove to other models. We only found one user review at Amazon.com.
