The Bissell DigiPro canister vacuum makes it to the recommended list in two semi-professional reviews, but it gets lukewarm feedback from users. Feature-wise, owners say the DigiPro isn't bad -- it has a retractable cord and on-board attachments -- but it loses points for durability and suction. The lower-priced Hoover WindTunnel Bagless S3765-040 (*Est. $220) hits the price/performance sweet spot, according to reviewers, with good test results on both carpet and bare floor.

The Bissell DigiPro hasn't been covered by ConsumerReports.org, but it is included in editorial reviews at About.com and ConsumerGuide.com. Unfortunately, neither source seems to have tested the Bissell DigiPro before rating it. User reviews are more helpful; Amazon.com has the best coverage, but Epinions.com has a few entries as well.
