Horrible Vacuum, Waste of Money!, October 6, 2009

My wife and I purchased this vacuum probably four years ago. At first we thought it was great, worked good and was easy to use. Over time, however, I've become less and less enamored with it. Let me give some examples. First, it does clog very easily because of the design. Secondly, I've found that there are issues with keeping a good connection between the hose and the canister section. As you move around with it, it tends to try and yank itself out, resulting in constant and annoying 'brown outs' where you lose power to the sweeper (and the light). Another thing I don't like is the suction. It starts off pretty good, but it drops off pretty quick and towards the end, when the bag is filling up, it's pretty much useless. And no, the HEPA filter does not work very well at all on this unit, it blows the majority right back out. I don't personally use this feature, or care about it I guess I should say, so it didn't matter to me. If it matters to you, avoid this unit like the plague. Finally, probably the worst thing, is that the hose is constantly kinking itself, becoming twisted (to where it will keep trying to kink until you untwist it) and so on. The last straw for me was when the hose completely separated from the handle without warning. One minute I'm vacuuming, the next I hear a suction noise and notice that I'm holding onto a handle where the hose is dangling out the end by a thread (the piece that has the wiring in it). I got a couple years of service from this unit, and it does vacuum, but it's got too many imperfections to it. I would never buy this vacuum again and I'd strongly advise anyone here to carefully read all these negative reviews, look at all the consistent problems (especially the hose!) and steer far clear of this thing.

Carpet attachment clogs easily, June 29, 2009
The carpet attachment has clogged twice in the handful of times I've used it. The first time, I had to take off six screws to unclog. The second time, I managed to clear it with a long screw-driver and the wand was also clogged. My 15-yr old Hoover picked up better.
HEPA aside, it's not bad, January 24, 2009

I purchased this product after checking reviews on a few sites and after having had a Bissell upright for 10 years (I loved that one!). I want vacuums with bags and this was one of the few on the market that was reasonably priced. That said, the product is lighter weight than my old one and lighter than the Hoover bagless I tried (bleh!). I have had this vacuum for 8 months and I just replaced the belt and I was happy that it was a repair I could do myself. The motorized floor brush is a little light and I find I have to make more than one pass over an area to see it clean (I have white pet hair on a cranberry-colored area rug, so I can tell. I agree that the HEPA claims may be a stretch, but then again I didn't buy the vacuum for that. I also think that the bags are small, so you go through them more quickly, which is a shame. But if you are looking at this product because you want light-weight, you have to make some concessions. Overall, I am ok with this product. Is it the best one on the market? Probably not, but for the price it has been working well for me.

Misguided purchase-Didpro 6900, May 24, 2008
This is the worst vacuum cleaner I have purchased in 30 years! The suction is poor, poor filter. I have enjoyed many Bissell products this one would be better smashed. The company had very few answers or suggestions. This will certainly direct my purchases elsewhere.
We are experiencing MAJOR repair issues on this vacuum.., September 20, 2007

The Bissell Digipro Canister (manufactered by Samsung of Korea) has numerous repair problems. We are starting to see these machines in for repair, more and more frequently. The main issues are with the electrical hose, electrical wands, and the circuit boards. We tend to see this happen on Korean made vacuums, the circuit boards seem to overheat, and a lot of them even melt! Samsung has made this machine under their label, and the Bissell model seems to have the same, if not more problems! Dont expect to get any more then 3 years without some kind of electrical problem. One way you can prevent problems with the hose is, instead of pulling the canister around with the hose, simply go back to the canister, and push it with your foot. This will avoid stress on the hose, and prevent the hose from breaking. One other common problem that can be avoided is by picking up all big items off the floor first. This may seem like common sense, but the Bissell DigiPro has a very small opening in the powernozzle. This causes larger pieces to become stuck, not allowing the vacuum to pick up. Not a great vacuum in terms of quality.
