Bottom line

The Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite boasts a compact canister that packs a lot of punch in two directions. A convenient blower port reverses the airflow for use in workshops and garage spaces to blow sawdust or other debris away. The Mighty Mite works best on hard surfaces, and does well for pet-hair removal. The Eureka 3670G is extremely durable, with most owners saying it lasts for years; complaints of malfunctions are fairly isolated among the hundreds of rave reviews.

Breaking it down

Performance

Small but mighty; perfect for bare floors. The Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite gets raves from both experts and owners for its performance on bare floors and low-pile carpeting. It works less well, they say, on higher-pile carpets. However, most agree that it's a great choice for small spaces that have mostly hard floors. It also performs well at removing pet hair, even from area rugs, which can sometimes be difficult to vacuum with models that have too much suction power. The Mighty Mite also has a standout feature that differentiates it from other canister vacuums: Its blower port can be used to blow debris from keyboards, or sawdust from floors in garages or other workspace, although it's not nearly powerful enough to act as a leaf blower, which some express disappointment over. It does not have HEPA filter option.

Ease of use

Small, compact and easy to maneuver. At just 8.6 pounds, the Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite is easy to maneuver, easy to carry and compact enough that it's easy to store. That said, its short 20-foot power cord means the plug must be relocated to clean larger areas. Its swiveling floor head is easy to operate and has a low profile, so it slides easily under most low-sitting furniture. The canister has onboard tool storage for the included dusting brush/upholstery tool and crevice tool, and two easy-to-use extension wands. Suction control is conveniently located on the handle, but it's possible to hit the control accidentally during use.

Durability/maintenance

Overall, a highly durable machine. The Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite is extremely durable according to owners, many who say they've had this little workhorse for years. The Mighty Mite is backed by a one-year warranty. Many user posts at Amazon.com and Walmart.com say the Mighty Mite will last for years. Because it is a fairly small vacuum, the bags are also small, so frequent changes may be necessary for larger jobs, but bags cost less than $1 each. Among the few comments we read on customer service, owners find it friendly and helpful, but report some slowness with getting replacement parts. The only other complaint we saw is that the 3670G is noisy, although some say it's no louder than any other vacuum they've owned, so that may be in the ear of the beholder.
