Reviewers say the Hoover WindTunnel S3765-040 canister vacuum offers good performance for its price. Users agree that its suction is strong, and it offers a variety of useful features: HEPA filtration, fingertip controls and a retracting cord. However, it is also heavier than most canister vacs, and some users find it hard to maneuver. Also, because it is a bagless vacuum, the dirt bin must be emptied by hand -- a process some users say can be messy. Finally, we saw many complaints about this vacuum's durability. A more reliable model, though more expensive, is the Electrolux Oxygen Canister EL6988E (*Est. $325) .

The Hoover WindTunnel S3765-040 is not included in vacuum tests at ConsumerReports.org, although the Hoover brand as a whole is evaluated in terms of reliability. However, the WindTunnel S3765-040 receives reviews from more than a thousand owners posting to Amazon.com, plus another 50 or so at Epinions.com. ConsumerGuide.com and VacuumCritic.com both have editorial reviews, but neither cites testing to back up their analysis.
