People who've seen the Miele Capricorn S5980 canister vac praise its high-tech design along with its high-efficiency fiber bags, fingertip controls, easy swiveling, long power cord and low noise. However, few reviewers appear to have evaluated this Miele vacuum in controlled testing, and we did not find a review that compares the Miele S5980 head-to-head to its less-expensive competition.

We found the best review of the Miele Capricorn S5980 bagging canister vacuum at AllergyBuyersClub.com, which (though it sells vacuums) does a good job of listing the pros and cons of various models. The Capricorn is also discussed by a single, but very persuasive, owner posting to Amazon.com. Unfortunately, we didn't find any reviewers that compare the Miele Capricorn to other canister vacuums, so it's impossible to say how well the Miele actually cleans carpets and bare floors relative to the much less expensive competition.
