Reviewers say the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX offers a good price-to-performance ratio. BabyGizmo.com's Hollie Schultz says the Evenflo "sets a standard for affordable convertible car seats." Triumph Advance seats were redesigned after a previous version failed a crash test conducted by one independent review organization.
What sets this Evenflo convertible apart are its adjustment features for harness tension and its secure belting. The up-front adjustment knobs get good feedback from parents, and reviewers say the feature makes the car seat safer by reducing opportunities for incorrect reinstallation, although some reviewers say the harness-tension knob is in an awkward spot when the seat is rear-facing. Owners also say they like the moderate price of the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX, although it's possible to get a top-rated car seat like the Cosco Scenera (*Est. $55) for much less.
Independent crash testing makes ConsumerReports.org our top review source on the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX, but coverage is thin otherwise. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration publishes ratings for ease of use only. For more details, we turned to the comprehensive baby gear buyer's guide "Baby Bargains" and consulted a solid review by BabyGizmo.com's Hollie Schultz. User reviews at Amazon.com and Buzzillions.com provide some additional information on comfort, fit and ease of use.
