It's not recommended as often as pricier seats like the Britax Marathon Classic (*Est. $270), but reviews say the Graco My Ride 65 is a good value for the money. It performs just as well in crash tests as the top-rated Britax, and experts and owners say the My Ride 65 is a bit easier to install. Its forward-facing weight limit is identical to the Britax Marathon Classic's -- 65 pounds -- with a higher rear-facing weight limit (40 pounds) and an inch taller height limit (50 inches). These are some of the highest height and weight limits on the market, although not as high as the Sunshine Kids Radian65SL (*Est. $230) or some even pricier Sunshine Kids and Britax seats. The My Ride 65 also lacks the quick harness-height adjuster you'll find on some of these pricier seats, and unlike the Britax and Sunshine Kids seats, the My Ride 65's top tether (which stabilizes the head area of the seat and reduces the risk of head and neck injuries) can only be used in the forward-facing position.
ConsumerReports.org is the only independent testing source that crash-tests car seats, including the Graco My Ride 65. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also rates car seats, but only for ease of use. CarSeatBlog.com and About.com both test the seat's ease of installation and provide a thorough analysis of its features. Buzzillions.com has amassed hundreds of reviews for the My Ride 65.
