The Bissell ProHeat 2X CleanShot 9500 is a full-sized upright carpet cleaner that receives plentiful recommendations from users and a Best Buy award from ConsumerGuide.com. Like the other ProHeat models, this carpet cleaner includes a built-in heater, rotating brushes and a 12 amp motor. It also has a dryer function that blows air (like a hairdryer) to help prevent wet carpet -- a common complaint with other models in this series. The CleanShot feature dispenses an extra squirt of cleaning fluid for tough stains. Users posting reviews to retailer websites almost unanimously agree that the Bissell does a great job cleaning carpets, but we did read several complaints about leaky water tanks and weak suction. It also costs about twice as much as the Hoover SteamVac with Clean Surge F5914-900 (*Est. $150), which receives more uniformly positive reviews from owners.
