The Bissell SpotBot Pet replaces the now-discontinued Bissell SpotBot. The primary difference between the machines is the SpotBot Pet's Deep Reach feature, which injects the cleaning solution deep into carpet fibers to remove stubborn stains and soil. Reviews say the SpotBot Pet works exceptionally well on both old and new stains. The SpotBot Pet can be used in either manual or automatic mode. Reviewers say automatic mode is fine for small stains, but the largest stains will require manual cleaning with the hose and nozzle attachment. The SpotBot Pet comes with special solution designed to eliminate pet odors, although the standard Bissell Little Green cleaning solution can be used in this unit for everyday stains.
The SpotBot Pet has a 7-inch cleaning radius; the handheld nozzle is 3 inches wide and attached to a 5-foot hose. A 32-ounce dirty tank capacity is adequate for cleaning most stains, and owners say they like the 16-foot power cord for the ability to move the unit around in a single room without moving the power cord. On the downside, large stains may require more than one cycle to cover the entire soiled area. If you're looking for a carpet cleaner that can be used on an entire carpet surface, the Hoover SteamVac Carpet Washer with Clean Surge F5914-900 (*Est. $145) gets excellent reviews from both professionals and owners.
The Bissell SpotBot Pet isn't included in any professional testing, but we found hundreds of owner reviews at Amazon.com, Target.com, Viewpoints.com and Lowes.com.
