The Lite-On DH-52R2P is one of the few CD burners still being manufactured. Unless you have an older computer, experts advise getting a DVD burner instead because it writes both CDs and DVDs. This Lite-On model reads and writes only CDs. Owners say it's easy to install but that the drive motor is noisy. Nero disc-burning software is included, as well as a cable. The CD burner has 52X write/32X rewrite/52X read speeds, which are appropriate for making music CDs and backing up computer data. If you want a CD burner that can also read DVDs (but not write them), then reviewers suggest you consider the Lite-On DH-52C2P (*est. $25) internal CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive instead.
