Great to Have Two of Them Now!, April 7, 2009

Can't believe in this day of iPods that I finally needed two of these great 400-disc CD changers to hold my collection. Have used my first one for over 6 years without problem. And it has never been hooked up to an uninterrupted power supply and all the album info is still intact! Only downside to this product is a faulty description that I used to buy the second one because it had to hook up to the first. Namely, the text that says: What's in the Box - CD changer unit, RCA audio cord, Control A-1II cord, remote control, two AA batteries, and owner's manual. There is no such a control cable in the box nor is its inclusion printed in the box's contents. That control cable is absolutely necessary to get two of these bad boys connected together and to get them to talk to each other (so two players can share one CD player input on the receiver/amplifier). This cable is the best kept secret around (try searching for it). Very simply, this is a 1/8" double male connector cable - MONO not stereo. You only need one, although there are two holes. Now, if Sony would find a computer interface to allow faster titling of the discs!

Better with two, March 15, 2009

The Sony 400 Disc Juke Box is a great way to clear up some shelfspace and give yourself hours and hours of interesting random play. The product really shines if you cascade it with another Sony multi-disc player. We have ours hooked up to our 200 disc player and that permits us to do random play without any gaps in sound. One player plays while the other is selecting and queueing the next song. There is even a feature to fade down one song while bringing up the next for the real DJ sound. There is a port to plug in a keyboard so you can enter album and artist info easily. However, we discovered that all the info we had laboriouly entered into the 200 player is unreadable by the master player and must be re-entered. It is the only fault we have found with the product thusfar. Also, the 200 came with two CD wallets with the numbers 1-200 already on them but the 400 did not come with any way to store the CD info. We had to buy our own organizers and we have yet to get the numbers. Another shortfall. All in all though, a good product.

Great Multi Disk CD Player.....Awesome, February 1, 2009

Always a pleasure, January 12, 2009

This is my 6th one. Why? Because they are so dependable and a great storage place for continuous music output. I have a pair (3 pairs total)connected together as to play continuous uninterrupted music. Each pair represents a particular genre (or year) of music that I especially enjoyed. That's approximately 8,000 songs per pair or a total of 24,000 cuts of music from all six CD changers. I really enjoy listening to each connected pair depending on which type of music I'm in the mood for. Some pair of changers play non-stop all night alternating between discs and randomly selecting cuts. Problems- Absolutely none. Not a second of malfunctions since I started purchasing this product back when this model first came out in the early 2000's. 100 per cent dependable anytime and all the time. I highly recommend this Sony CDPCX455 if you have lots of CD's, need storage space ( no more cracked or breakable jewel cases) and into lots of musical eras. I use my computer keypad to input artists and titles for easy location and when I need to remove a particular disc for separate play elsewhere. It surely beats looking for that one jewel case among the 3,000 in my CD collection.

This is my second Sony mega storage CD player. I have a 300 Mega Sony
in my family room and needed more storage for my Rec room.
I couldn't be happier!
