The Weber One-Touch Gold (*Est. $160 for 22.5-inch size) is essentially the Weber One-Touch Silver (*Est. $80 to $90) charcoal grill with an extra handle, upgraded ash catcher and roll-back lid. Some components of the One-Touch Gold are also upgraded, such as the stainless steel cooking grate (instead of the Silver's plated steel). The One-Touch Gold comes in three sizes -- 18.5 inches (*Est. $130), 22.5 inches and 26.75 inches (*Est. $300) in diameter. Experts tend to focus on the 26.75-inch diameter because it's the largest of Weber's basic family-style grills.
The One-Touch cleaning system on the Gold is like that of the Weber Performer with a stainless-steel container just below the bottom of the grill to catch the ashes (as opposed to the open pan on the One-Touch Silver). Experts and users alike agree that this grill cooks well and is durable; they also say that the 26.75-inch model is large enough to cook for groups. If you'd rather spend less and don't need a larger grill, experts say the Weber One-Touch Silver (*Est. $80 to $90) is a great grill.
We found expert reviews of the One-Touch Gold in Men's Journal and About.com; a major grilling enthusiast also chimes in at AmazingRibs.com. An older comparative review in Cook's Illustrated features the One-Touch Gold, and user reviews are available at Amazon.com, HomeDepot.com, Walmart.com and ExpoTV.com.
